Puebla, Mexico

From Cuernavaca I took a beautiful bus ride to the city of Puebla which is a couple hours south of Mexico City. The landscape was great and the bus was very comfortable as the usually are in Mexico. On the way there I was surprised to pass a volcano that was covered in snow, in August, in the south of Mexico. When I got to Puebla the bus terminal was impressive and it felt like is was in an airport terminal more than a bus station.

The city was big and beautiful. It felt like a colonial, less chaotic, safer version of Mexico City. The downtown area had a lot of colonial charm and many of the buildings were faced with beautiful tile and brick. Puebla had great museums and a special feel to it.

One of the best sights of Pueblo was the immense cathedral. From the outside it didn't so special but inside it was spectacular.

In Puebla I stayed at a hostel and went out with friends I met there. One night we saw two dueling cover bands alternating between Beatles and Credence Clearwater Revival.

In Puebla I caught a number funs sight, including a sight of the general lee from the Dukes of Hazard. Mexico is full of surprises like that.
