From the beautiful beaches of eastern Uruguay Katie and I backtracked through Montevideo, staying there for another couple of days. From Montevideo we traveled another couple of hours to Colonia de Sacramento, a beautiful town just opposite of Buenos Aires on the Rio Plata. We stayed there for a night then took off the next morning for Buenos Aires. Colonia was a beautiful town with tree lined and cobble stoned streets. It was cool to walk the city, see the old fort, climb up the light house, and visit all of the funky shops and restaurants. The next morning we braced ourselves for another rough boat ride, but the water was smooth and there were no problems at all getting back to Buenos Aires.
In April 2008 I reduced my life down to a small storage shed and one backpack to begin a journey through the Carribean, Central and South America. On my trip I will be visiting my sister Jenny, who is Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica, as well friends that I made while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. I will likely be gone for more than a year making my way from the Carribean down to the tip of South America - In this blog I will describe the experiences I have along the way.
