From Rio I took a night bus the picturesque city of Ouro Preto. I arrived early in the morning, stored my bag, and walked around the city the whole day. Later that evening I made it to Bello Horizonte for the night. Ouro Preto was a beautiful place with great old buildings and cobble stone streets. It had a different feel from the other places I had been in Brazil, more rural and colonial. It was beautiful place to see.
In April 2008 I reduced my life down to a small storage shed and one backpack to begin a journey through the Carribean, Central and South America. On my trip I will be visiting my sister Jenny, who is Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica, as well friends that I made while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. I will likely be gone for more than a year making my way from the Carribean down to the tip of South America - In this blog I will describe the experiences I have along the way.
