From Cali I was continuing on towards Ecuador and decided to break up the trip and stop in the small and scenic city of Popayan. It was a gorgeous colonial city with white-washed buildings and great old streets. It's a famous university town in Colombia but the students were still out of classes so it was a little quite. I was just stopping along the way and I ended up staying for a couple of nights; it looked like a great town to live in. I didn't take a lot of photos but it was definitely a photogenic place.
In April 2008 I reduced my life down to a small storage shed and one backpack to begin a journey through the Carribean, Central and South America. On my trip I will be visiting my sister Jenny, who is Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica, as well friends that I made while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. I will likely be gone for more than a year making my way from the Carribean down to the tip of South America - In this blog I will describe the experiences I have along the way.
